:re Chapter 11

The Quinx and Suzuya squads gather to go over the Nutcracker investigation. Hanbee Abara notices some members are missing, and Haise Sasaki apologizes, explaining that Saiko Yonebayashi and Ginshi Shirazu could not attend. When Juuzou Suzuya arrives, Haise hands him sweets, a habit Hanbee says he has kept up for years. Shirazu then shows up with Saiko riding on his back, offers his own apology for the delay, and Hanbee walks the group through the essentials of the case.

According to the briefing, Nutcracker is a highly selective feeder who targets men's testicles, mashing and drinking them down like a paste, though at times she abstains entirely, which raises suspicion that she deals in human trafficking. Hanbee relays Matsuri Washuu's theory that Big Madam will eventually lean on Nutcracker to supply people. The CCG already knows her appearance and territory, but rather than risk uglier outcomes, they have chosen to leave her at large for now.

The Quinx settle into a cafe to work through their assignment, bickering over their internal frictions until a woman locks eyes with Shirazu, who nervously shatters his glass. He flusters as she calmly pours herself a drink and departs. Afterward, Tooru Mutsuki reassures Shirazu that Urie deceived them, since the consent paperwork actually guarantees payment even to those who quit the CCG. Shirazu concedes the lie at least lit a fire under Saiko, and wonders aloud why Sasaki offers no help.

Urie then brings Haise a consent letter authorizing an operation that requires his mentor's approval. Haise reminds him that he took on the role at Yoshitoki Washuu's request, meant to teach the Quinx to wield their power properly, and insists they are not lab animals and that this approach is wrong. He tells Urie that his Q ability is far from his only strength and that he has plenty of room to grow. Elsewhere, at a cafe named OCEANS'R, Kanae von Rosewald returns a pair of underwear to Chie Hori, and when asked how Tsukiyama reacted, replies that he gave none.

The briefing lays out Nutcracker's gruesome habits and the CCG's decision to let her operate freely while they watch for a trafficking link to Big Madam. Mutsuki reveals that Urie lied about the consent form to manipulate the squad, exposing the group's shaky trust. Haise refuses to rubber-stamp Urie's surgery request and challenges his narrow view of his own worth. A closing scene ties Kanae and Chie to Tsukiyama's storyline.
