With only the black-suited agents left to mark, the attackers close in, until Enji Koma with the Apes and Kaya Irimi with the Black Dobers arrive beside Kaiko. Koma and Irimi have been remade from their corpses into self-directed humanoid quinques, an idea once explored and shelved in Germany. Kaiko admits to Itsuki Marude that the Washuu clan fed on the bodies of slain ghoul investigators and that V existed to gather them, boasting that he and his agents are kings of the law who will impose a new order in the mold of the old Washuu ideal.

Take Hirako and Koori Ui trade blows with the two revived ghouls until Mougan Tanakamaru appears calling them eternal.
