Kiyoyuki Yanada was a Japanese freelance voice actor, formerly with 81 Produce and Kyu Production, who voiced martial-arts ghoul leader Matasaka Kamishiro in the Tokyo Ghoul anime from Studio Pierrot before his death in 2022.
Yanada voiced Matasaka Kamishiro, nicknamed Orca, the former leader of the 6th Ward's ghouls who sheltered a young Rize Kamishiro as his foster daughter while she hid from the organization V. The role called for a commanding, battle-hardened presence befitting a martial artist who trained and toughened the ghouls under his command. Yanada, whose deep voice had already carried decades of authoritative characters, brought that same gravitas to Kamishiro's brief but pivotal appearance.
Yanada began voice acting in 1987 after auditioning for Shutendouji in Ronin Warriors, and he went on to inherit several parts once played by the late Yō Yoshimura and Kazuyuki Sogabe. He worked as a freelancer after stints with Kyu Production, 81 Produce, and D-COLOR, and he passed away in November 2022 at age 57 during cancer treatment.
