History
Vargr began among the Jomsvikings before abandoning that path for piracy. His raiding brought him against Thorfinn's vessel, and the attempt ended badly: Canute's men took him prisoner and lined him up for execution. Thorfinn intervened, pulling Vargr and his followers off the block and bringing them aboard as part of his own company.
From there he joins the long push westward, appearing among the crew through the Vinland stretch of the tale and settling in with the community that gathers at Arnheid Village.
