CharacterGigaros is a Cardian, the sixth monster that the alien pair Ail and An unleash in Sailor Moon R to feed energy to their dying Makai Tree. She preys on children and marks the debut of one of Sailor Venus' signature attacks.
Appearance
Modeled on a bird of prey, Gigaros sports a pair of vulture wings and fingernails that can shoot out to skewer whoever she targets. Those same wings let her stir up tornadoes in the middle of a fight.
Personality
In the Japanese version she is a creature of few words, able only to echo her own name. The DiC English dub reworked her entirely into a male monster named Vulturos and gave him the gift of speech.

History
The Makai Tree begins withering again even after the previous Cardian, Reci, gathered a fresh supply of energy, so Ail and An try a new tactic and send Gigaros to harvest life force from young children. Much like Kigaan before her, she goes after buses packed with kids. One such bus carries a little girl who trusts that Sailor Moon is real and whom Minako has often shielded from bullies, along with Minako and Usagi themselves. The two girls become Sailor Venus and Sailor Moon and take her on, but the monster overpowers them until the Moonlight Knight arrives. Sailor Venus then debuts Crescent Beam Shower, pinning Gigaros long enough for Sailor Moon to wipe her out with Moon Princess Halation. Her name is a pun on Icarus, the Greek figure undone by his own wings.
