The Targeted Kindergarteners: Venus to the Rescue

Minako becomes caught up with a kindergartner who adores Sailor Moon, just as the alien pair turns to younger victims for a fresh source of energy.

Running late for school, Minako scares off two boys picking on a girl named Mie Sayama, who was only faking tears to draw help. The two meet again after Mie is teased for insisting that Sailor Moon truly exists, and Minako, revealed here as Sailor V yet unknown to the child, promises to attend her show-and-tell and vouch for her hero. Meanwhile Ail and An decide to prey on children's energy and send the Cardian Gigaros to drain a busload of students.

At the kindergarten Minako rides along on Mie's bus, and Usagi sneaks aboard using her Disguise Pen as a stand-in teacher. When Gigaros strikes, Usagi transforms and appears, winning over the doubters, while Sailor Venus finds her Crescent Beam useless against it. The Moonlight Knight interrupts the Cardian and urges the guardians to believe in themselves, and Venus staggers the Cardian with Crescent Beam Shower before Sailor Moon lands the finishing Moon Princess Halation. Afterward Mie admits to Minako that she is turning into a Venus admirer as well.

These events do not appear in the manga, and the real Crescent Beam never gains the shower variant among its upgrades. The DiC dub cut a scene of Minako squeezing Artemis awake. Mie Sayama and Crescent Beam Shower both debut here. This is the last episode to feature the Disguise Pen in use, though Venus later claims in episode 102 that she borrowed it to pose as Sailor Moon, and it marks the last installment produced for the Dutch dub.
