Mr. Popo has always been one of our favorite characters in
Dragon Ball. He's the silent, unshakeable presence who's been around since the original series, training fighters, tending the Lookout, and generally being more powerful than anyone gives him credit for. He watched
Goku grow up. He trained Kami's replacements. He's been there through every saga, doing his job without fanfare. He doesn't get the spotlight. He doesn't ask for it.
The Concept
We wanted to give him a win. The first song title that came to mind was
Mr. Popo Took Your Girl, and honestly, it wrote itself from there. The idea of Popo as a smooth, unbothered romantic threat is absurd in the best way. He's ancient, mysterious, and operates on a completely different level than everyone else in the series. He doesn't compete. He doesn't explain himself. He just exists on another plane entirely.
The Energy
Turning that into a laid-back R&B track where he casually takes your girl felt right. No drama, no confrontation. Popo doesn't need to try. That's exactly the energy the song delivers. Soulful production, smooth vocals, and a premise that makes you laugh the first time you hear it and then gets stuck in your head for the rest of the week.
