Chapter 153: Final Resolve Time

As the rocket plunges back toward the planet, Korosensei praises Nagisa and Karma and works loose its built-in parachute. The craft splashes down in the pool right in front of the waiting class, sparking a celebration. Karasuma seethes over the fallout to expect from the Japanese government, until Korosensei notes that keeping him uninformed shields him from blame, and adds that data pulled from living passengers rather than dummies, plus Ritsu charting a more efficient route to orbit, more than justified the risk.

The class crowds around Ritsu to read the files, and Okuda offers to break the findings down. The astronauts, it turns out, had been searching for a way to keep Korosensei from detonating, testing assorted antimatter organisms by sending them to explode safely in space. Their work showed that the blast risk climbs the smaller a creature is and when its cells are split by force. Because Korosensei is the original antimatter host, neither condition applies to him, leaving his risk already low. A single injected solution can push it below one percent, and Okuda reveals she has produced something identical before, back when she liquefied him.

The class rejoices that their teacher may not explode in March, but Karasuma cautions that the research still needs verification and that the government's assassination order stands. The students resolve to keep trying to kill him until March unless that order is lifted. The chapter runs in Volume 18.
