The one hundred fifty-ninth chapter continues the Valentine's storyline. Karma and Nakamura scheme to pair Kayano with Nagisa, touring the class's couples for ideas before she finally hands over her chocolate on her own quiet terms.
Cornered by Karma and Nakamura, Kayano brushes off her chocolate as a mere obligation, but Karma flashes a photo on his phone of Nagisa kissing her, leaving her flustered. The two troublemakers have noticed she can no longer mask her feelings and decide that matching her with Nagisa would give them even richer material to tease. To that end, they offer to help her figure out how to deliver her gift by studying how their classmates handle the day.
They first watch Sugino slam himself against a pole after Kanzaki gives him chocolate, though hers is purely a courtesy. Hayami passes chocolate chips to Chiba with cool professionalism, a bond too reserved to read as romance. Hazama then hands out sweets and a love letter to Yoshida, Muramatsu, Itona, and Terasaka, which irritates Karma, since he had arranged for Okuda to lace Terasaka's chocolate with cyanide. Finally, Kataoka gives Isogai a bulky bag of discount chocolates meant for him and his younger siblings.
Concluding that Kayano should simply act in her own way, the observers watch her stop Nagisa as he leaves. She guesses that he hopes to become a teacher, then sees him lunge at Korosensei perched in a tree before backing off when the shot proves too distant. That focused killing expression is exactly what first drew her to him, so she offers the chocolate out of thanks for standing beside her, unwilling to obstruct his path. Karma and Nakamura respect her choice and link her selflessness to their late teacher Aguri, whose bikini photo, the very item Kayano lent them, now holds Korosensei's rapt attention.
Karma exposes Kayano's feelings with the photo of Nagisa's kiss. The trio survey several couples, revealing Karma's foiled cyanide plot against Terasaka. Kayano gives Nagisa her chocolate in gratitude rather than confession, and the chapter closes on Korosensei absorbed in a photo of Aguri Yukimura.
Valentine's Time, 2nd Period is the one hundred fifty-ninth chapter, a twenty-page entry in Volume 18 between the first Valentine's chapter and Valentine's Time, After School. It expands on Kayano's lingering attachment to Nagisa established in the earlier installment.
Chapter 159, titled Valentine's Time, 2nd Period, continues the Valentine's storyline as Karma and Nakamura scheme to pair Kayano with Nagisa before she delivers her chocolate to him.
Chapter 159 does not show Kayano and Nagisa getting together romantically. She gives him her chocolate out of gratitude for standing beside her and admiration for his focus, rather than as a confession.
In Chapter 159, Karma and Nakamura notice that Kayano can no longer hide her feelings for Nagisa, and they decide matching the two would give them even richer material to tease her with.
In Chapter 159, it is revealed that Karma had arranged for Okuda to lace Terasaka's Valentine's chocolate with cyanide, a plan that was foiled when Hazama instead handed out sweets to Terasaka and the other boys.
Chapter 159 closes with Korosensei absorbed in a bikini photo of the late Aguri Yukimura, the very photo Kayano had lent to Karma and Nakamura.
