The one hundred sixty-first chapter teaches Karma restraint. After Korosensei defuses one street clash by grovelling, Karma must swallow his pride before a far deadlier group of strangers, and finds an unexpected reward in Itona's reunion with his father.
When Karma collides with two strangers and starts baiting them, Korosensei appears in a flash to bow and plead until the tension evaporates. The teacher uses the moment to warn Karma against picking needless fights that only work against his own interests.
Soon after, Karma spots a cluster of rough men bothering Tōka Yada and moves to intervene, only to sense that they are unusually powerful. One alone seems to outmatch Akira Takaoka, while the figure standing behind them, Craig Hojo, feels stronger than Karasuma. Recalling the earlier advice, Karma offers a sincere apology instead of a challenge. Amused, the men release Yada and wander off, later remarking that despite the students' surprising toughness they could have slaughtered the whole group in roughly twenty seconds, with Hojo noting how well Karma reined himself in.
Afterward, Nagisa and Yada thank Karma for keeping his temper, though he wonders whether swallowing his pride will bring him anything in return. Just then they catch sight of Itona weeping as he reunites with his father, and Karma decides that the sight alone is reward enough.
Korosensei defuses Karma's first confrontation and lectures him on restraint. Facing thugs led by Craig Hojo who outclass even Takaoka and Karasuma, Karma apologizes rather than fight and frees Yada. The chapter ends as Itona is tearfully reunited with his father.
Pride Time is the one hundred sixty-first chapter, a twenty-page entry opening Volume 19, School Attendance Time. It follows Valentine's Time, After School and precedes A Time for Memories, and it showcases the raw strength of Craig Hojo's group.
