The fiftieth chapter opens the end-of-term exams, where academic rank becomes a weapon. Korosensei dangles his own tentacles as the reward for topping a subject, turning ordinary tests into another front in the class's long campaign against him.
The fiftieth chapter arrives at the semester's final exams, and Korosensei raises the stakes by offering a prize with real bite. Any student who places first in one of the five graded subjects earns the right to sever one of his tentacles. The whole class throws itself into preparation, since the reward turns studying into a genuine path toward killing him.
The obstacle is the main campus, whose top five students stand as the toughest rivals Class E can face, among them Gakushu Asano, Natsuhiko Koyama, and Ren Sakakibara. Beating them will be anything but simple, framing the exams as a steep uphill contest rather than an easy shortcut to a tentacle.
