Falco Grice

Small and slight, Falco carries little visible muscle for a boy raised on military drills. Shaggy light brown hair tops a soft face with long lashes and hazel eyes that slope downward at the corners. His candidate uniform mirrors the Marleyan soldier's kit except for the Eldian star on his collar badge and hat stripe, along with the armband the law forces onto every Eldian in Marley.

The Pure Titan Zeke's scream made of him was gangly and long-necked, its rounded upper jaw hinged over a row of sharp teeth with no lower jaw beneath. After devouring Porco Galliard he gained the Jaw Titan, a five-meter form built around paired jaws: a hardened outer beak over an inner human-like mouth. Zeke's spinal fluid threaded the form with traits of the Beast, fur, talon-shaped limbs, and eventually feathers, wings, and a tail that let it take to the sky.

Falco was never built for war. He freezes under fire, struggles to assert himself, and loses training races to Gabi, yet cowardice is not in him; he leaps from cover to shield her from a gunman and puts himself between her and every danger that follows. Compassion defines him more than any soldier's virtue: he drags a wounded enemy into the trench to treat him, comforts shell-shocked veterans, and holds no grudge even against Connie, who once tried to feed him to a Titan.

Encouragement from Reiner and from the man he knew as Kruger unlocked a steadier Falco who could finally speak his mind, even to Gabi, his barely hidden crush. He thinks fast under pressure, inventing alibis convincing enough to fool the Blouse family, and he can set his feelings aside to weigh a situation coldly, sketching a plan to capture Eren within moments of grasping how badly he had been used. Even then, he understood why the enemy struck Liberio and kept hold of Eren's words that people on either side of the sea are the same.

Falco fights through Marley's war with the Mid-East Allied Forces as a Warrior candidate, wounded at Fort Slava and hauled out of enemy fire on his brother Colt's back. Home in Liberio, he pours himself into surpassing Gabi for the Armored Titan inheritance, secretly hoping to claim the curse in her place, and befriends a maimed veteran called Mr. Kruger, ferrying letters past the internment gate as favors for him. The kindness is a trap: Kruger is Eren Yeager, the letters were dispatches to Paradis, and Falco has unwittingly helped stage the raid that flattens the festival and kills his friends Udo and Zofia. He survives Eren's declaration of war only because Reiner shields him from the transformation blast.

Chasing Gabi onto the escaping airship, Falco lands in a Paradis cell, breaks out alongside her, and shelters under false names with the Blouse family until a glass of wine laced with Zeke Yeager's spinal fluid finds him at Niccolo's restaurant. When Marley strikes Shiganshina and Zeke screams, Colt refuses to release his brother and burns in the transformation beside him. Falco's Pure Titan mauls Reiner's nape until it senses the dying Porco Galliard nearby and devours him instead, granting Falco the Jaw Titan at the cost of his brother's life.

Rescued from Connie's attempt to feed him to his Titan-turned mother, Falco joins the alliance against Eren. His first deliberate transformation at the Paradis harbor routs the Yeagerists but spins out of control until Magath cuts him from the nape. Aboard the ship he pieces together an inherited memory of a winged Beast Titan and wills his own form into flight, carrying Annie and Gabi to Fort Salta, plucking the alliance from a horde of Titans, and delivering Mikasa and Levi to the mouth of Eren's Titan for the killing stroke. With the power of the Titans erased, he lands among the restored Eldians and finds Gabi. In the years after the war the two care for the crippled Levi, help replant the land the Rumbling scarred, and eventually marry.
