Pieck's Panzer Unit guns scatter the Scouts away from the fallen Porco Galliard just as Lara Tybur skewers Eren's Attack Titan on a tree of hardened spikes. Eren survives by armoring one arm, then abandons the impaled body entirely and re-forms a fresh Titan below, reasoning that Lara's failure to finish him means she is running on empty.

Pieck talks a rattled Galliard through the situation: the raiders came without a supply line, so Marley controls the field once its reinforcements land. That calculus dies in the harbor, where a hooded sailor on a small boat reveals himself as Armin and detonates into the Colossal Titan, vaporizing the fleet and the port. The blast staggers the whole internment zone, and the Warriors realize their stolen weapon has come home. Galliard breaks formation to charge Eren, leaving the Beast Titan exposed; Levi drops Zeke with a strike to the nape. Sasha's marksmanship and Jean's Thunder Spears then dismantle the Cart Titan and wipe out the Panzer crew, with a badly hurt Pieck saved only when Falco throws himself into Jean's line of fire and Magath rallies soldiers around her.

Mikasa shears the legs from Galliard's Jaw Titan before it can reach the arriving airship. Eren strips its remaining limbs, wedges Lara's crystal between its jaws, and forces the bite that cracks her open, drinking the War Hammer Titan's spinal fluid as she dies. Only the desperate screams of Gabi and Falco stir Reiner, who transforms in time to pull Eren's attention off the helpless Galliard.

Falco discovers that Reiner's crushed will to live is stalling his regeneration and promises to bring help. Armin's transformation annihilates Marley's naval reinforcements at the port, his first use of the Colossal Titan in open war, and he grimly wonders whether Bertholdt once looked upon the same devastation. Levi topples the Beast Titan; Sasha kills the Panzer gunner Carlo; Jean fires on Pieck despite Falco standing in the way, though the spear misses.

Eren acquires the War Hammer Titan by using the Jaw Titan's bite to shatter Lara Tybur's protective crystal, then batters Galliard senseless. Hange's airship reaches Liberio for a one-pass extraction, and Reiner's transformation saves Galliard from being eaten.

Episode 66 overall and the seventh of the MAPPA-produced fourth season, directed by Jun Shishido and written by Hiroshi Seko. Its manga basis spans Too Little, Too Late, Assault, and Victors, with a Japanese premiere on January 25, 2021.

The information segment introduces the island's new omni-directional mobility gear, which now packs pistols, redesigned blades, and fire shells for fighting people as well as Titans. Hange's quip asking whether Erwin's ghost possessed Armin underlines how reckless the extraction plan is.
