Summary
The smiling Titan that killed Carla Jaeger five years earlier wanders onto the battlefield just as the retreat from Reiner's Titan-throwing barrage falls apart. Hannes charges it, determined to redeem the day he ran instead of fighting, while Ymir wrestles with a decision: the Walls look doomed, and this may be her last chance to hand Historia to the Warriors. Historia cuts through the calculation by telling Ymir to stop living for others and start living for herself.
Mikasa, too hurt to fight, frees Eren's hands so he can transform, but his half-healed bite draws no reaction. Helpless, the two watch the Titan snatch Hannes mid-swing and bite him in half.
