Pressed against a wall by Jean, Niccolo admits he cannot prove the wine is tainted, but the shipments arriving on the survey vessels far exceeded what any short voyage needed, and Yelena instructed him to pour it for high-ranking officers first. Connie protests that people dosed with Zeke's spinal fluid freeze up, as they did in Ragako, yet Hange points out that only Zeke ever described that symptom; if it is a lie, no victim would ever suspect the poisoning. Niccolo adds that every Marleyan soldier knows the fluid's history: roughly a decade earlier, hundreds of dosed Eldians were sent into an enemy capital, and one scream from Zeke leveled the city overnight.

While Falco's mouth is rinsed, armed Yeagerists pour into the restaurant, guided there by Niccolo's coworker Griez. Floch holds Onyankopon at gunpoint, announces that Eren has rejected any negotiation with Dot Pixis, and orders Hange to bring them to Zeke. When Hange warns that the wine carries Zeke's fluid, Floch waves the claim away, then betrays himself by referencing the Military Police drinking it before anyone has said so.

In a side room, Eren sits across from Mikasa and Armin. He insists the Liberio attack was his own free choice, then turns on both friends: Armin, he says, has been reshaped by Bertolt's memories, while Mikasa is ruled by Ackerman blood. He explains that the clan was bred to guard Eldia's kings, awakening to protect a recognized host, and that her true self vanished in the mountain cabin at age nine. Declaring that he has despised her since childhood for being an unfree slave, he reduces Mikasa to tears. Armin lunges at him and is beaten down, and Eren has everyone transported to Shiganshina District.

Deep in the Titan forest, Levi learns of Zackly's death and resolves to feed Zeke to a captured Yeagerist until Historia can inherit the power. Before he can act, Zeke bolts and unleashes a scream. Around Levi, the Survey Corps soldiers stationed in the trees drop to the ground and transform into Titans.

Hange deduces that Zeke lied about his spinal fluid paralyzing victims, meaning anyone who drank the wine could be dosed without knowing it.

Niccolo reveals Yelena directed the wine toward ranking officers and recounts Marley destroying an enemy capital with fluid-dosed Eldians about ten years earlier.

The Yeagerists, tipped off by Griez, take the restaurant, refuse Pixis's proposal, and detain the Survey Corps members and the Blouse family.

Eren tells Mikasa the Ackerman clan exists to serve Eldia's kings, calls her a slave to instinct, and claims he has always hated her; his fight with Armin ends with Armin beaten.

Zeke's scream transforms the Survey Corps soldiers guarding the forest into Titans before Levi's eyes.

Ignorance is the 112th chapter of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan and the second chapter collected in volume 28. It belongs to the War for Paradis arc, released in Japan on December 7, 2018, with the English release dated December 6, 2018.

The chapter's material spans two anime episodes, Children of the Forest and Savagery. Its title reflects Eren's tirade about slaves and freedom, framed by his declaration that nothing disgusts him more than people who are not free.

It follows the chapter Children of the Forest and leads into Savagery. Whether Eren's cruelty toward Mikasa and Armin is sincere or performed became one of the most debated questions of the final arc.
