History

Gyove stands at Balzac's side when the baron learns that a swordsman has beaten the mandragoran Job. Once Guts agrees to recover the Mandragora Heart, Gyove is charged with killing him afterward. He strikes first at the rebels' hideout, slaughtering nearly everyone, seizing Casca, and letting Rita escape to fetch Guts. He then torches the mandragoran village, though Eriza's sacrifice and Zodd's sudden arrival force him to retreat. When Guts storms Balzac's castle, Gyove mounts a final line of defense and is cut down as the swordsman reaches him.
