Iony

Iony is a young human mage native to the island of Skellig. Supplementary artwork depicts him with blond hair and green eyes.

What defines him most is a persistent appetite; he is repeatedly shown nibbling on fruit and vegetables across his scenes. Beyond that quirk, he blends in among the other youthful sorcerers of Elfhelm and reacts with plain curiosity toward the newcomers and their spellcraft.

Iony first appears in shadow alongside the mages Theuene and Kukka, wondering aloud whether the arriving humans might be pirates, and he takes notice when Schierke and Molda display their magic. He introduces himself as the group escorts the outsiders through the mage settlement toward Gedfring's manor. After Casca is healed by way of the Corridor of Dreams, he attends Gedfring's lessons, remarking that he had needed three full years to master that same summoning, and briefly loses his apple to a dark spirit Schierke conjures. When Skellig is destroyed, Iony is among the mages evacuated aboard the Seahorse, later glimpsed as the Kushan board the ship and as Qliphoth rises in the imperial capital.
