Summary
The impossible sight of an ocean vessel gliding over land leaves Guts and his group nearly wordless. Bonebeard stands on its deck, back for revenge and claiming mastery over the entire island. He boasts that the villagers were devoured and reshaped into the tentacles now serving him. His ship sprouts writhing limbs and eye stalks, and he vows to reduce the whole party to the same fate by feeding them to enormous sea slugs, creatures that crawl up beside the Captain Sharkrider and match it in size.
Guts starts slipping, and Schierke feels the Beast of Darkness seizing hold of him. She begs him to hold on until she reaches the village, but the pull proves too strong and the wolf helmet snaps shut over his face. Filled with wild new strength, Guts tears through a mass of tentacles and springs onto the prow of the enemy ship.
