Overview
The repeater crossbow is a crank-driven ranged weapon that Godot builds and Rickert later tunes for Guts. It becomes the swordsman's answer to being surrounded, letting him thin out large packs of human or inhuman attackers before they can close on him.
Function
The weapon feeds from an open-topped box magazine seated upright above the stock and stuffed with bolts. Turning the hand crank cycles the gears that seat each bolt and draw the string, then release it, so a steady turn of the handle sends out one volley after another. It fixes easily to Guts' mechanical arm, and during a stay at Godot's mountain workshop Rickert slims the build down and adds a fresh magazine with a folding bellows. Guts keeps it as a mainstay until the Berserker Armor comes into his hands.
