Chika Shihōin

Youthful in appearance, Chika had olive-toned skin, golden eyes, and a shaggy mane of white hair whose bangs spilled across his forehead. Over the usual captain's haori and shihakushō he added a wardrobe of bright accents: long rectangular gold earrings, a gold-trimmed orange scarf marked with spirals and wave patterns, a matching orange waistband, and orange cloth fitted to the soles of his sandals.

Yhwach recalled Chika as a savage, cold-blooded killer, a label he lived up to by butchering the Lichtreich's Quincy during their earliest assault on Soul Society.

More than a thousand years in the past, Chika was named the first captain the Second Division ever had. When the Lichtreich invaded, he met them head-on, tearing enemy soldiers apart with raw physical blows and playing a major part in the Quincy army's defeat. His strength was staggering: he fought almost entirely through hand-to-hand Hakuda, downing opponents with brutal kicks powerful enough to take off a Quincy's head in one strike, and as a member of one of the Four Great Noble Houses he carried immense spiritual power to match. His sealed Zanpakutō took the shape of a katana bearing an ornate X-shaped gold guard, an orange grip with a purple tassel, and an orange scabbard, though its released forms were never shown. With the fighting over he settled into the ensuing peace, and both his captaincy and his position as head of the Shihōin Clan would eventually pass down to Yoruichi Shihōin.
