During the Soul Society arc, Sōsuke Aizen hypnotizes Danzōmaru along with two of the other gate guardians, meaning to turn them loose against Ichigo Kurosaki and his companions, only for the scheme to be blunted when Jidanbō Ikkanzaka steps in.
