Johann Seydlitz

Seydlitz was a dignified, middle-aged man with short white hair swept back behind his ears and parted on the left, a trim mustache, and an eyepatch over his left eye. He wore the uniform of Yhwach's army beneath a long white coat that buttoned all the way to the collar and stopped just past his waist.

Devoted and obedient to Yhwach, Seydlitz was nonetheless ready to voice dissent, cautioning his king against assembling a fresh fighting force while the Lichtreich was already at peace. Discovering that this new army was meant to invade Soul Society left him visibly stunned.

A thousand years ago, after Yhwach had brought every corner of the Human World under the Lichtreich, he summoned Seydlitz and unveiled his plan for a new unit. Seydlitz argued that another army served no purpose in peacetime, only to be shocked when Yhwach clarified that this force, the Sternritter, existed to strike at Soul Society. He stood silently by when Yhwach and Ichibe'e Hyōsube later met to negotiate a truce. When the Lichtreich finally launched its invasion, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto burned Seydlitz and two comrades to death with Zanka no Tachi, and his skeletal remains were later reanimated to unnerve the disguised Royd Lloyd. As a Quincy he pulled Reishi from his surroundings to form a pair of pistols, from which he could also fire bullet-shaped Heilig Pfeil.
