The roster gathers dozens of teenagers, each drawn with an individual look rather than a shared template. Some surface only in crowded class shots, while a large number, among them Aiko Kugihashi, Yunosuke Nega, and Kanan Yoshizawa, are known chiefly through detailed fashion designs created for BURN THE WITCH, a supplementary one-shot volume. Their styles run the gamut, from thick-rimmed glasses and buttoned-up dress shirts to sun visors, bell-bottoms, and boldly patterned skirts, and a handful never appear on the page at all beyond those profile sketches.

Where any trait is noted, it tends to be a single quirk. Rinko Himejima is frightened of frogs, Aiko is devoted to tulip hats, Sayaka Nogi favors bell-bottom trousers, and Yuya Nito is thoroughly full of himself. A separate cluster of high achievers, including Kenichiro Nanbu, Satoshi Terasawa, and Shoko Kusama, is defined almost entirely by placing near the top of the school's exam rankings.

As background figures, most turn up reacting to the strange events swirling around Ichigo and his friends. Several sit stunned when Kon, piloting Ichigo's body, bounds impossibly across the classroom, and many are unnerved when Uryu Ishida shows up with his arms swathed in bandages, blaming a tumble down the stairs. A distinct thread follows the crafts club, where the overwrought Hirayama frets over the vanished Uryu and Orihime while Takehara, Fujio, and Onodera trade blunt remarks. Others, such as Tetsuo Momohara and Shunsuke Kobayakawa, are remembered mainly for gawking when Rukia Kuchiki returns to the school through a window.
