Kinroku Izuhara

Izuhara is a fair-skinned man defined by sharp angles: a pointed nose, thin lips, high cheekbones, a strong jaw, and slim eyebrows, topped by short gray hair parted to one side. He peers through narrow yellow-tinted glasses and wears a captain's haori over his uniform, cinched at the middle by a thick green sash.

By Yhwach's account, Izuhara was notorious as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer, a reputation he earned by cutting down the Lichtreich's Quincy invaders without so much as a flicker in his stern expression.

More than a millennium ago Izuhara takes up the newly created captaincy of the 3rd Division, and when the Lichtreich storms Soul Society he answers by opening the throats of soldier after soldier, helping to break the Quincy army. Once the fighting subsides he settles into the ensuing peace, having found things he considers worth protecting. As one of the earliest and reputedly strongest captains, he wields enormous spiritual energy and precise swordsmanship, aiming his strikes at his enemies' throats. In its sealed state his Zanpakutō appears as a wakizashi with a green grip, a square golden guard, and a matching green scabbard, though neither its Shikai nor its Bankai was ever shown.
