Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi, better known as Rose, is the captain of the Third Division and one of the Visored. A languid music lover exiled a century earlier over Aizen's Hollowfication scheme, he later reclaims his old captain's post.
Rose has long, wavy blond hair, purple eyes, and a perpetually bored look. He dresses in a black suit under a thigh-length jacket, with a white, high-collared, frilled shirt worn untucked. During his earlier captaincy he kept his hair straighter and tied off with a small black ribbon, layering a frilled shirt beneath a sleeveless haori and the Shinigami uniform; after Aizen's defeat he returns to that dress with shorter, slicked-back hair and a single loose lock.
Foppish and languid, Rose ranks among the most relaxed of the Visored, often tuning his guitar or trading talk of new records and manga with Love instead of minding the moment, and quick to bristle when someone spoils a story for him. Beneath the indifference he genuinely cares for his comrades and delights in dramatic flourishes during battle, a habit that earns him more than one smack from Love. He treasures his lieutenant, Izuru Kira, as a wellspring of musical inspiration.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....
Named captain of the Third Division roughly a century and a decade ago, Rose is among the officers sent to investigate the Rukongai disappearances, where a Hollowfied Mashiro ambushes him and Aizen's experiments leave him and the others transformed. Rescued by Urahara and Tessai, he is exiled to the Human World as a Visored, and in time he helps restrain Ichigo's rampaging inner Hollow and fights at the fake Karakura Town, taking a grave wound from Aizen.
Once Aizen falls he is reinstated as captain. During the Quincy war he confronts NaNaNa Najahkoop and later duels Mask De Masculine, unleashing his Bankai before a Star Flash tears open his chest; slain and turned into a zombie by Giselle Gewelle, he is eventually cured and rejoins the Visored against Gerard Valkyrie.
His Zanpakutō, Kinshara, becomes a golden, prehensile whip tipped with a flower at the command Play, capable of long, curving strikes and shockwaves of sound. The Bankai, Kinshara Butōdan, conjures a troupe of doll-like dancers whose music casts illusions so convincing that they inflict real wounds, through programs such as Sea Drift and Prometheus, though a foe who destroys their own hearing is left immune. Reckoned the ablest Kidō user among the Visored after Hachigen, Rose also dons a distinctive Hollow mask shaped like a plague doctor's, usable for only three minutes at a stretch.
