Kōkichirō Takezoe

His hair is cropped and dark, framed by thick brows, and a scattering of stubble covers his jaw and the area above his lip. Like the rank-and-file of his division, he goes about his duties in the plain black shihakushō issued to every Soul Reaper.

Takezoe operates under the Tenth Division's banner, answering to Captain Hitsugaya and lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto. During the turmoil that followed the apparent killing of Sōsuke Aizen, he broke into a private exchange between the two officers, rapping on the office door to announce himself before passing along word that three prisoners, Renji Abarai, Izuru Kira, and Momo Hinamori, had slipped free of their cells. He first turns up in the manga over the course of the Soul Society arc, having already made his debut somewhat earlier in the anime adaptation.

The nature of his Zanpakutō stays undisclosed, since its Shikai has never been shown and he has not reached Bankai. His standing as a seated officer nonetheless marks him as a trusted and capable member of the division's ranks.
