Overview

Dangai Jōe is the ultimate expression of Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō, the Bankai belonging to former 7th Division captain Sajin Komamura. Where the base Bankai fights as a towering suit of animate samurai armor, this form casts that armor away to reveal the pure reiatsu underneath.

Mechanics

Komamura first performs the Wolfman Clan's Humanization Technique to reclaim his human shape, then activates his Bankai and triggers this form, causing the giant's armor to break off in massive chunks. What remains is a demonic-faced body bound many times over by a thick cord and composed of nothing but spiritual pressure. Because the armor was the giant's life, discarding it means literally casting that life aside, yet the technique's link to the Humanization Technique renders the Bankai virtually immune to physical harm, regenerating from any wound almost instantly. This made it a perfect counter to Bambietta Basterbine's The Explode, since the giant held no reishi to detonate, and its blows were forceful enough to shove her bombs back at her. The cost is absolute: once the Humanization Technique wore off after the fight, the giant crumbled into nothing and Komamura began turning into a powerless wolf, ending his ability to ever wield it again.

Notable Users

Only Sajin Komamura can call upon this technique, as it depends on both his Bankai and the secret Humanization Technique unique to his clan.
