Makizō Aramaki, saddled with the nickname Maki-Maki, is a rank-and-file Eleventh Division Soul Reaper. Timid and easily frightened, he is best known for reluctantly escorting Orihime Inoue through the Seireitei during the Ryoka invasion.
Aramaki carries a middle-aged, fairly tall look, with small-pupiled black eyes, neck-length dark brown hair combed back, and whiskers ringing his mouth. He stays in his shihakushō and wears his sword at his left hip.
Unlike the brawlers around him in the division, Aramaki is meek and easily cowed, baffled that Ichigo and his friends would lay everything on the line to save Rukia Kuchiki. He bristles at the Maki-Maki nickname Yachiru Kusajishi hung on him and remains scared of her even after nearly a decade of service.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....
During the Soul Society arc, Aramaki crosses paths with the disguised infiltrators Uryū Ishida and Orihime Inoue while the pair slip through the Seireitei, and even while drunk he sees through them, noting their Twelfth Division insignia and missing swords. After Mayuri Kurotsuchi's men are made to explode and Orihime shields him, a bewildered Aramaki cannot grasp why she mourns them or saved him. Uryū then orders him at gunpoint to carry Orihime to safety; when she bites him in protest, he knocks her out with a single chop. He soon runs into Yachiru, who commandeers him to guide her and Kenpachi Zaraki toward Ichigo, and once they reach him after his win over Byakuya Kuchiki, Aramaki insists he is no one worth noticing.
Much later, in the Thousand-Year Blood War, he cheers Kenpachi against Gremmy Thoumeaux and lends his Reiatsu toward opening the portal that leads to the Soul King Palace. As an unseated Soul Reaper his power sits at an ordinary level, though his single knockout blow to Orihime shows some hand-to-hand skill.
