Beyond her seated duties, Mihane helps operate Gin Tonbo, a popular spectacles shop in Soul Society. Her father, Ginjiro Shirogane, once served as a lieutenant of the Sixth Division and now runs the place, and she works the counter there, having waited on Renji and his Zanpakuto. Her Shikai has never been shown and she has attained no Bankai. In the omake chapters her hair reads as a lighter brown, while her cameo in Episode 258's illustrated picture book gives it a darker shade.
