Números

Within Sōsuke Aizen's Arrancar forces, the Números make up the body of trained fighters stationed at Las Noches in Hueco Mundo. As each Hollow is remade into an Arrancar, it receives a two-digit designation beginning at eleven. That figure tracks the sequence of a member's creation rather than any measure of power, so a larger number simply marks a more recently born Arrancar. The name reads as Numbers in Spanish and Number Holders in Japanese.

The Números serve as Aizen's pool of combat specialists, and the most capable among them can be picked out by hand and raised to the Espada, the army's top ten. Each Espada also holds the right to draw personal subordinates from this pool. These attendants are called Fracción, and an Espada may keep several, a single one, or none at all, entirely by preference.

The ranks span dozens of Arrancar tied to the various Espada. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, himself once numbered twelve, commanded a group that included Shawlong Koufang, while Baraggan Louisenbairn fielded a large retinue and Tier Harribel led the trio of Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun. Others, such as Loly Aivirrne, Menoly Mallia, Wonderweiss Margela, and the towering Yammy Llargo, round out the roster. Supplementary material notes that Shawlong took the number eleven after volunteering to serve as the earliest subject for Aizen's Hōgyoku experiments.
