Obuta

Obuta cuts an imposing figure, standing exceptionally tall and heavily built. He keeps his hair clipped very short, peers out through narrow, beady eyes set behind a pair of rectangular glasses, and carries a short scar that runs from the left of his brow up into his hairline. Like the rest of his crew, he dresses head to toe in black, finished with a leather jacket.

He carries himself as a brash, vindictive ringleader. His introduction is built entirely on a grudge, as he rallies his whole gang to avenge the beating one of his members took from Ichigo. He is quick to bark orders and quick to anger the moment things stop going his way.

Obuta surfaces during the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, leading his gang, every man carrying bats and knives, up to Karakura High School to collect on a score: Ichigo had knocked seven teeth out of one of his men. He blocks off the school's exit and demands Ichigo come out. Instead, Uryū Ishida answers, dropping a gang member who mistook him for Ichigo with a single punch. Obuta orders a swarming attack, but when Ichigo finally turns up, the two round on the gang leader and deck him together, shattering three of his teeth and leaving him unconscious.
