Privaron Espada

Within Sōsuke Aizen's forces in Hueco Mundo, the Espada stand as the ten strongest Arrancar. When one of them loses their edge or stops being useful to Aizen, they can be cast out of that elite circle and reclassified as Privaron Espada, a name carrying the sense of the deprived or omitted blades. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, for example, was pushed out after Kaname Tōsen severed his arm, and Yammy Llargo narrowly avoided the same fate only by retrieving his own lost limb to have it reattached. Where a serving Espada wears a one- or two-digit designation, a demoted one is handed a three-digit number instead.

Even after losing their standing, these cast-offs sit well above the rank and file. Because they were once true Espada, they overpower the ordinary Números with ease, and they are quartered together in a section of Las Noches called Tres Cifras, literally the Three-Digit quarter. Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio explains that they represent an older generation of naturally born Espada made obsolete once Aizen began manufacturing Arrancar to his own exacting standards, replacing the originals with artificial creations he could tailor to his needs. Supplementary novel material further suggests that the final digit of a Privaron Espada's number preserves the Espada rank they once held.

Three turn up in the main story, all met by intruders inside Hueco Mundo: Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio, the 103rd, who wields Giralda; Cirucci Sanderwicci, the 105th, whose released weapon is Golondrina; and Gantenbainne Mosqueda, the 107th, who fights with Dragra. Ryōgo Narita's novels widen the roster with two more, the 100th-ranked Cien Granz, who bears a Fornicarás of his own, and Pícaro, the 102nd, whose release is Langosta Migratoria.
