Senescencia, Spanish for senescence, is the signature power of the Espada Baraggan Louisenbairn, who reigns over death by aging. It bends time in his favor, slowing anything that draws near him and rotting whatever he touches.
The power reveals itself as an aura of decay: objects and even the ground around Baraggan wither and crumble simply from his presence, and once his Resurreccion is released the deterioration spreads to nearly everything nearby.
Baraggan frames his ability as dominion over age, and so over time itself, which he calls the ultimate and most unavoidable form of death, the end that waits for all things. Fittingly, Senescencia wins less through force than through inevitability, wearing down anything that dares to approach.
By dilating time around himself, Baraggan slows any attacker who comes close, buying room to respond; Sui-Feng and Marechiyo Omaeda could not land a single blow on him because of it. A mere touch accelerates aging, and a light tap on Sui-Feng's shoulder left the bones of her arm brittle enough to shatter. Once his Resurreccion is released the field intensifies until objects age and disintegrate before they can reach him, letting him crumble thrown rocks in midair and even push Sui-Feng's exploding Bankai far enough away to survive the blast.
