Shōta Toyokawa is a Plus, the spirit of a boy killed in a car crash in Karakura Town. Fiercely protective of his younger sister Yui, he searches the town for their lost parents and for her, crossing paths with Rangiku Matsumoto and Tōshirō Hitsugaya.
Shōta is a brown-eyed boy with brown hair who wears a yellow hooded top over a red undershirt and grey beach shorts. A bandage sits across his nose, and the Chain of Fate that marks him as a departed soul hangs from the middle of his chest.
Devoted above all to guarding his sister, Shōta has a blunt and impolite streak. He needles Rangiku Matsumoto by calling her an old hag, mocks Ikkaku Madarame's bald head, and flatly refuses to believe the youthful-looking Tōshirō Hitsugaya could really be a captain, brushing him off as a mere kid.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....
Shōta died together with his parents and sister Yui when their car struck a truck head-on during a family outing to an amusement park. Waking as Pluses, the two children wandered Karakura Town in search of their parents. One night Shōta awoke to find Yui gone and discovered that a Hollow had cornered her; overcome with terror, he fled and left her calling for help, a moment of cowardice he later forced himself to face by returning for her.
Hunted by an Arrancar, Shōta is shielded by Rangiku Matsumoto and taken in by Tōshirō Hitsugaya for questioning. He reunites with Yui, but her enormous spiritual pressure marks her as a threat, and she is eventually revealed to be bound to a Cloning Arrancar, transforming into one of its copies. With Hitsugaya's Bankai pinning the true enemy, Shōta and Rangiku together deliver the finishing strike using her Zanpakutō, Haineko. Recovering Yui's ocarina and reassured that his sister has passed on to Soul Society, Shōta asks Rangiku to send him after her, and she performs the soul burial that lets him follow.
Like his sister, Shōta holds a notably high level of spiritual energy, strong enough that the pair managed to break through a barrier spell cast by a captain.
