The technique takes shape as a five-sided seal, mapped out by driving five Seele Schneider into the ground so each blade marks a corner of a pentagon. Those arrow-swords double as collectors, quietly pulling in the Reishi required to power the array. The fluid held inside a Gintō tube then acts as the switch that sets it all off.

Sprenger behaves far more like a trap than a quick jab. Placing the fifth blade can pin a victim where he stands, as dense Reishi wraps his legs and roots him to the center of the figure. Its glaring drawback is time, since laying the blades and letting them charge leaves the caster wide open, making the move impractical mid-duel unless an ally buys the seconds or the user is strong enough to raise it under fire.

Once triggered, the enclosed ground erupts in a massive explosion penned within the pentagon's outline, engulfing anything trapped inside. Uryū Ishida stands as its known practitioner. The name folds two meanings together, German for a burst and Japanese for the shattering of a clustered formation, and fans have at times mistakenly written it as "Sprengen."
