Uryū Ishida is a Gemischt Quincy based in Karakura Town, where he practices medicine at Karakura Hospital. A friend and second cousin of Ichigo Kurosaki, he once served the Wandenreich as the Sternritter A, Antithesis, and was even named as Yhwach's chosen heir.
Slim and standing fairly tall, Uryū is rarely seen without his glasses. Straight black hair falls to about his chin and frames each side of his pale, blue-eyed face. At school he keeps to the uniform and tie, while hunting Hollows calls for his white Quincy garb, marked with blue stripes for the Quincy cross and finished with a mantle he favors. Once he joins the Wandenreich, he trades this for a double-breasted white trench coat under a long flowing cape, its buttons stamped with the Quincy Zeichen, a gold-buckled belt at the waist, and a winged, halo-ringed star pinned over his chest.
Generally quiet and something of a loner, Uryū works harder at looking composed whenever others are watching. He belongs to his school's handicrafts club and sews with real skill, though his eye for design leads him to slip unexpected flourishes into anything he stitches for friends. His listed quirks run to the odd side: low blood pressure, a loathing of procrastination, a strange aversion to buttons despite his talent with a needle, and a dislike of the word 'haphazard.' He is fond of Don Kanonji's television program and of the movement-hampering mantle he insists on wearing purely because it looks good.
Governing all of this is a code he calls the Pride of the Quincy, paired with a fierce sense of justice. Chivalrous to a fault, he says he punishes men who mistreat women, and he tends to spare rather than kill, aiming to disable a foe when victory allows it. His long estrangement from his father hardened when he watched Ryūken spend days dissecting his late mother's body, an act he saw as desecration that made him swear off medicine. Learning afterward that the autopsy served to draw out the means of defeating Yhwach changed his mind, and he took up the profession once the war ended.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....
Uryū came into the world after Ryūken Ishida wed Kanae Katagiri, and he lost his mother while still young when Yhwach's Auswählen stripped away her powers and her life. Raised largely by his grandfather Sōken, who trained him in the Quincy arts, he grew apart from a father who dismissed the Quincy path as unprofitable. His hatred of Shinigami traces to Sōken's death at the hands of Hollows, whom the Shinigami failed to reach in time, an event the boy could do nothing to stop.
Meeting Ichigo Kurosaki turned into a defining rivalry that gradually became genuine friendship, and Uryū fought at his side through the rescue of Rukia Kuchiki, the war in Hueco Mundo, and the battles that followed. When the Wandenreich rose, he stunned his allies by enlisting as the Sternritter designated A, Antithesis, rising into Yhwach's elite Schutzstaffel and being marked as the emperor's successor. That choice masked deeper aims, and he ultimately turned against the empire, clashing at length with the Sternritter Grandmaster Jugram Haschwalth.
As a Quincy, Uryū draws spirit particles from the air and shapes them into a bow that fires the Heilig Pfeil, with precision enough to curve arrows in flight or cancel out incoming attacks. He commands the high-speed Hirenkyaku, the defensive Blut Vene, the rare Ransōtengai puppet technique, and the silver-tube Gintō, all backed by a sharp analytical mind. Uniquely, he is the only Gemischt Quincy to survive Yhwach's Auswählen with his powers intact. When the war closed, he set his old grudge aside, reconciled with his father, and became a doctor at Karakura Hospital.
