The company marks itself with the daffodil as its emblem, a bloom chosen to signify mystery and self-regard, and it carries dark green as its identifying color. Its barracks hold the usual offices and living quarters for the squad's Shinigami, including a shared workspace where Matsumoto is fond of napping on the couch and stashing sake inside her captain's desk.

Under Hitsugaya's careful, attentive command the squad runs in fine shape, its soldiers pushing themselves hard to meet his standards. The lone holdout is Matsumoto, who slyly shifts her duties onto the captain, yet the members find both officers easy to approach. By the reckoning of the Shinigami Women's Association, the division suits kind, considerate souls who treasure the friends they grew up with.

The company follows the standard structure of a Gotei 13 division and holds jurisdiction over Naruki City, with no other special duties recorded. Little survives about its earlier roster beyond the fact that the captain's seat sat empty until Hitsugaya rose to fill it, the previous holder having fallen in combat according to Shunsui Kyōraku and Retsu Unohana.
