Byakuya's Bankai, the Quiet Anger

Trailed by a struggling Hanatarō, Byakuya trades barbs with Zommari over which of them is the arrogant one before the Espada releases his Zanpakutō, Brujería. Its power, Amor, steals sovereignty over whatever its many eyes gaze upon, and Byakuya's left leg is claimed against his will. He responds by slicing through the leg's nerves, then does the same to his arm when Zommari turns it toward his own throat.

Elsewhere, Unohana and Isane finish healing Sado and Gantenbainne and sense the captains unleashing their full power across Las Noches. Zommari escalates by seizing the unconscious Rukia, forcing her to attack both Hanatarō and Byakuya. He explains that gaining control of a target's head grants dominion over the entire body.

Cornered, Byakuya immobilizes the possessed Rukia with Rikujōkōrō, then appears behind Zommari and activates Senbonzakura Kageyoshi. Zommari tries to commandeer the blades, but Byakuya points out that fifty eyes cannot hope to claim over a hundred million petals. He unleashes Gōkei, and the resulting force annihilates the chamber.

Zommari releases Brujería and uses Amor to hijack Byakuya's limbs. Byakuya severs his own nerves to break the control. Zommari possesses the unconscious Rukia and turns her against Byakuya. Byakuya binds Rukia with Kidō, then destroys Zommari's chamber with his Bankai technique Gōkei.

The episode adapts Chapters 300 and 301 in the second part of the Hueco Mundo arc. Alongside the main duel, it cuts to the Mayuri versus Szayelaporro and Kenpachi versus Nnoitra battles. Techniques include Byakuya's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi and Gōkei, the Kidō spells Shō and Rikujōkōrō, and Zommari's Amor. A picture-book skit shows Yachiru stealing koi from Byakuya's pond.
