Gin Ichimaru's Temptation, Resolution Shattered

On the bridge to the execution ground, Gin toys with Rukia, whose presence she has always dreaded, comparing his manner to a snake coiling at her throat. He notes that Renji still clings to life, offers to save Rukia and her friends, then coldly admits he was only joking. The cruelty shatters the resolve she had built around her own death, and she collapses, screaming, having been made to want to live again.

Elsewhere, Kenpachi holds off Komamura and Tōsen at once, mocking their strength and demanding they use their final releases. Tōsen explains why he finds Kenpachi unforgivable, a bloodthirsty threat to the peace, then activates a dome that strips away sight, hearing, smell, and spiritual sensing. Relying on touch alone, Kenpachi feels each blade at the moment of contact, dodges, and lands escalating counters. He discovers that gripping Tōsen's sword restores his senses, and with a decisive slash he collapses the technique. Nearby, Yumichika unveils the true, forbidden form of his blade against Hisagi, a power he hides so his fighting-obsessed comrades will not scorn him.

Refusing to fall, a bleeding Tōsen recalls his lost friend Kakyō and vows to become justice itself. When he charges again, Komamura intervenes, his shattered helmet revealing a wolf's face, and unleashes his own final release. On the hill above, Yamamoto arrives to begin the execution as Byakuya joins the assembled captains, and Rukia is asked for her last words.

Gin offers to save Rukia, then retracts it, deliberately shattering her acceptance of death. Kenpachi fights inside Tōsen's sense-stealing dome using only touch, learns that grabbing Tōsen's blade restores his senses, and collapses the technique. The episode adapts Chapters 145 through 149 in the Soul Society rescue arc, advancing Kenpachi's duel with the Seventh and Ninth Division captains and Yumichika's fight with Hisagi. Its anime notes detail removed material, expanded scenes, softened blood, and small changes from the manga, including Unohana's rearranged role in healing Renji.
