Hirako and Aizen...the Reunion of Fate!

The arrival of the Visored draws a remark from Gin about the many faces he recognizes, and the group's thoughts drift back over a century, to their days as captains and lieutenants and to the night their Hollowfication began. In that memory, Urahara and Tessai burst in to halt Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen; as the traitors slipped away, Tessai loosed a devastating Hadō spell that Aizen shrugged off with a defensive Bakudō barrier. Urahara then spirited Shinji and the others to safety, and Yoruichi later moved them to a hidden refuge, supplying the Gigai prototypes that would sustain them.

Back in the present, Shinji asks whether anyone has words for the Gotei 13. Only Lisa breaks away, flash-stepping over to her old captain Shunsui to tell him to drop the act and witness how strong she has grown. Shinji himself approaches Yamamoto, refusing the label of ally while making clear the Visored oppose Aizen and stand with Ichigo. The uneasy truce holds just long enough for Wonderweiss to cry out and Hooleer to spill a wave of Gillian into the fight.

Masks on, the Visored scatter to cut down the Gillian while showing off their individual powers, then fold into the captains' battles against the Espada. Lisa and Hiyori back Hitsugaya against Tier Harribel, Love and Rose team up on Coyote Starrk, and Hachigen lends his barriers to Suì-Fēng in her clash with Baraggan. Shinji tries to reach Aizen alone but is intercepted by Tōsen, whose strike is turned aside by Komamura, now allied to the masked newcomer who accepted him. Elsewhere, Kensei and Mashiro squabble over the final Gillian before Mashiro flattens Hooleer with her Super Kick as Wonderweiss looks on stunned. As Komamura and Tōsen reckon with their shared past, Hisagi steps in and asks to join the confrontation.

Set in the second part of the Fake Karakura Town arc, the episode adapts chapters 365 through 367. It carries the opening ChAngE and the ending Echoes. The comedic Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book segment reaches back 110 years to Shinji waking up bald after Aizen cut his hair in his sleep; recalling how long it took to grow back, the present-day Shinji vows he will never forgive the man for it.
