Summary

After Mashiro puts Hooleer down, Gin muses that its loss must sting Wonderweiss, who then tries to blast her with a Cero only to eat a Drop Kick to the face before he can fire, Mashiro crowing her victory. Nearby, Lisa, Hiyori, and Hitsugaya square up against Tier Harribel; the young captain would rather chase Aizen, but Hiyori snaps at him, brands him a pervert, and the argument fizzles as the three commit to Harribel together. Love and Rose open on Coyote Starrk, warning that their masks hold for only three minutes. Meanwhile Hachigen reaches Suì-Fēng and Ōmaeda, and as Baraggan readies his aging breath, the massive Visored snares him inside a green barrier, reasoning that the Espada's decay is harmless so long as it never makes contact, until Baraggan lays a hand on the wall and it begins to rot.

Elsewhere, Hisagi strikes at Tōsen while thanking him for everything he once taught, and Komamura notes that his half-healed body leaves him dangerously weak. Tōsen observes that Hisagi still speaks without a trace of fear, insisting that those without fear have no right to fight at all.

Key Events

Baraggan explains that his power unravels anything created, including the Kidō barriers a Shinigami raises, and shatters the cage. Hachigen answers by walling off himself and his allies from the Respira, then asks Suì-Fēng to lend her Bankai; she is startled he even knows of it and blames Urahara for the leak. Layering barrier upon barrier, Hachigen erects a fortress-like structure and lays out his plan: Baraggan once survived her missile by aging and detonating it at a safe distance, so if he were pinned too close to redirect the blast, his decay could not act quickly enough. A section of the fortress opens to reveal Suì-Fēng, who makes Hachigen swear to seal Urahara in a barrier for a month before firing her Bankai. The detonation is heard across the entire battlefield, prompting Shinji to note another of Aizen's allies has fallen, as Hachigen offers his condolences to the fallen King of Hueco Mundo.

Belonging to the second half of the Fake Karakura Town arc, the episode adapts chapters 368 through 370 and brings the Baraggan battle to its close. Its opening is ChAngE and its ending is Echoes. The bonus Karakura Town: Secrets of the Seven Mysteries skit has Keigo tell Ichigo about a school urban legend, a guitar heard playing in the music room late at night; suspecting a lingering spirit, Ichigo goes to perform a soul burial, only to find Hisagi fumbling through his very first guitar lesson.
