Szayelaporro looks on while Renji and Uryu tear through the duplicates he has spawned, only for fresh copies to rise from every puddle of the slain ones; each defeated clone simply splits and reproduces. Amid the chaos, Dondochakka nearly strikes the real Renji and Pesche deliberately jabs at him, prompting Uryu to catalogue the giveaways that separate the fakes from the originals: altered hair and eye markings on himself and Renji, missing dots on Dondochakka's back, and trousers rather than a loincloth on the Pesche copies. Szayelaporro dismisses the loincloth and the dots as offenses to his aesthetics. Fed up with the cramped chamber, Renji triggers his Bankai despite Uryu's caution; the clones mirror the move and level the building, which confirms Renji's hunch that they merely imitate whatever he does.

Emerging from the rubble and grumbling over how he will explain the wreckage to Aizen, Szayelaporro wipes out every clone himself, declaring the tactic dull and resolving to fight in person. Two Arrancar who had served as his throne intercept Uryu and Renji, and in the opening this creates, Szayelaporro snares Uryu with a wing and produces a Voodoo Doll of the Quincy through his Teatro de Titere ability. He demonstrates his puppet control, then pries the doll open to reveal miniature organs and tissues, crushing its stomach so that Uryu vomits. When Renji lunges to help, he is caught the same way and made into a doll of his own, and Szayelaporro belittles both as childishly simple creatures Aizen will discard.

Elsewhere, Nnoitra taunts Nelliel before their duel resumes, yet she keeps a commanding edge in speed. The two halt their blades just short of one another, and Nnoitra remarks that the standoff recalls how things stood between them long ago, insisting she has not changed since. The moment calls back her appearance during her days as an Espada.

Renji and Uryu learn that Szayelaporro's copies multiply on defeat and only mimic their targets' actions, a truth Renji confirms by baiting them with his Bankai. Szayelaporro erases his own clones and enters the fight directly, trapping both Renji and Uryu inside Voodoo Dolls that let him control and injure them at will. In a parallel bout, Nelliel outpaces Nnoitra, stirring his memories of their shared past.

The episode adapts material from the closing pages of Chapter 292 through Chapter 293. Its Arrancar Encyclopedia segment features Gin describing Szayelaporro's Resurreccion, Fornicaras: the ability to grow enemy clones from fluid off his back and, after enveloping a foe in his wings, to fashion a doll that hijacks their senses. Gin calls the powers unpleasant, and when Szayelaporro offers him a recurring spot on the show, Gin declines.
