The forty-fourth Bleach episode carries Uryu Ishida's duel with Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi to its brutal finish. Crippled and cornered, the young Quincy destroys his Sanrei Glove to unleash a forbidden final form, spending his own powers for one overwhelming surge against an enemy who refuses to die cleanly.
Held upright only by the puppet-string art Ransotengai, Uryu keeps fighting even though Mayuri's Shikai has robbed his limbs of movement. The captain marvels that a boy could revive a technique he assumed extinct, having found no one among the thousands of Quincy he studied able to manage even part of it, yet Uryu rejects the praise and insists the method is nothing more than his refusal to stop until his teacher is avenged. Flashbacks surface of a cold Ryuken dismissing the Quincy craft as unprofitable and of the gentle Soken, who once entrusted him with the Sanrei Glove while warning that removing it would burn away his abilities forever.
Harried by Mayuri's flailing kusarigama and unable to land a single arrow, Uryu finally snaps a spur off the glove, detonating it and stepping into the Quincy: Letzt Stil. Wrapped in fresh armor with a jet of flame at his shoulder, he tears the surrounding structures down into spirit particles and looses arrows that maim Mayuri, ripping away an arm. The captain answers with his Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo, which spews lethal poison, but a single reinforced shot splits the creature and punches a hole clean through Mayuri himself.
Rather than perish, Mayuri liquefies his body with Nikushibuki and slips off, boasting that nothing can strike him while he is dissolved. As the toxin starts killing Uryu, the wounded Nemu offers a hidden antidote and quietly thanks him for sparing her master, which baffles the Quincy. Draining it, Uryu drags himself toward the Senzaikyu compound at dawn, sensing his days as a Quincy running short, only to reach the top of the steps and find Captain Kaname Tosen waiting, who releases Suzumushi to strike him down.
Uryu breaks the Sanrei Glove and activates the Quincy: Letzt Stil, gaining a vast but temporary boost at the cost of his own Quincy powers. He shreds Mayuri's Bankai and leaves the captain gravely wounded, forcing Mayuri to flee by turning himself to liquid. Nemu supplies the antidote for the poison spreading through Uryu, and the drained Quincy is ambushed by Kaname Tosen after climbing toward the prison tower.
The installment adapts chapters 124 through 126 and falls within the Soul Society rescue arc. Its flashbacks flesh out Uryu's fractured relationship with his father and the punishing training that pushed him toward the summit of Quincy strength. The anime stretches the duel considerably, letting Mayuri harry Uryu with his kusarigama before the transformation and toning down the graphic wounds drawn in the manga. D-tecnoLife opens the episode and Happypeople closes it.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
