Summary

Cornered at the edge of another execution pit, Ganju Shiba keeps dodging Yumichika Ayasegawa's blade while Ichigo races through identical alleys trying to reach him. Ganju buys time with scattered explosives and his sand techniques, finally erupting the ground beneath his pursuer with Seppa and Renkan Seppa Sen before sticking a lit firework to Yumichika's head. The blast doubles as a signal flare, alerting both Ichigo and, elsewhere, Kenpachi Zaraki, who smashes through a wall to chase it down.

On a nearby rooftop, Jirōbō Ikkanzaka ambushes Orihime Inoue, but Uryū Ishida whisks her clear with Hirenkyaku. Orihime's attempt to fight with Tsubaki fails when Jirōbō simply slices the spirit apart, so Uryū steps in, revealing a heavily changed spirit weapon, Kojaku, forged through solitary training with the Sanrei Glove. Jirōbō releases his blade into the swirling swarm of Tsunzakigarasu and boasts of his mastery over projectiles, only for Uryū to obliterate every spinning shard with a barrage of arrows, then destroy the recreated blades as well. Meanwhile Mayuri Kurotsuchi, hearing of Ikkaku's defeat from Nemu, sets off to interrogate the wounded seat before Kenpachi can.
