Shinigami Vs. Shinigami! The Uncontrollable Power

Once the massive gates ringing the Seireitei are forced open, Kariya turns on the Rukongai mob that helped him, thanking the crowd before scattering it with a gale from his Doll and admitting the villagers were never more than tools to bypass the Sekkiseki barrier that nullifies spiritual power. With Ichigo's group still locked outside, Kariya wrecks the siege engine and lays out the Bount plan: Koga and Sawatari are to overwhelm the captains while Mabashi and Yoshi sow chaos, leaving him free to recover a weapon of mass destruction hidden in the research institute.

Beyond the wall, Orihime mends the wound Jidanbō took defending the gate and chooses to stay with him so the others can press on, sending Kurōdo along to help track the intruders. Inside the city, the captains gather at Yamamoto's summons, where blame and old grudges surface over how the enemy slipped in, until the commander orders every division to disperse and cut the Bount down on sight. Mabashi, meanwhile, tears through squads of the stealth corps, and as Suì-Fēng dresses down her own troops for their failures, one puppet-controlled soldier drives a Bitto into her shoulder.

Kariya betrays and disperses the Rukongai villagers with Messer, confirming they were only meant to open the gates. He divides the assault, aiming his allies at the captains while he seeks the Jōkaishō in the Shinigami Research and Development Institute. Orihime remains behind to heal Jidanbō. Yamamoto convenes the captains, strips Hitsugaya of his temporary command, and orders the divisions to scatter and destroy the Bount. Mabashi's Doll, Ritz, lets him ambush the Keigun, and Suì-Fēng is struck from behind by a Bitto.

This anime-original installment belongs to the Bount Assault on Soul Society arc and adapts no manga chapters. The picture-book short shows Yachiru tormenting a napping Ikkaku by focusing sunlight onto his scalp with a mirror. The episode showcases Kariya's wind Doll, Orihime's Sōten Kisshun, Mayuri's Nisehada camouflage, and the parasitic Bitto used against Suì-Fēng.
