Overview
Each piece of Hollow Bait is a round white pellet only a touch larger than a grown person's fingernail, its rim ringed with small symbols. The tablets break with almost no effort, as Uryū Ishida shows when he shatters one between two fingers to open his contest with Ichigo Kurosaki.
Function
Once a pellet is crushed and its dust spreads through the air, Hollows begin crossing over from Hueco Mundo into that part of the human world. The reach and duration are considerable. Uryū's single use blankets Karakura Town with Hollows and holds for a full day, the span he sets for their hunt. Normally the lure only summons feeble, low-ranking Hollows, since it was meant to supply the Quincy with simple targets.
