Summary

As a death crest blooms over Yoruichi's stomach wound, Sui-Feng explains that Suzumebachi brands its target on the first hit, and a second strike to the same mark is fatal. She admits the technique was unfinished when Yoruichi departed, but boasts she has had a hundred years to perfect it, leaving her opponent only able to flee. She lands further strikes on Yoruichi's back and arm, each adding another crest, and taunts her for stalling since the marks vanish only when Sui-Feng chooses to remove them.

Yoruichi kicks a pair of hidden blades at Sui-Feng, who deflects them, then grapples with her, countering an overhead strike by trapping Yoruichi's foot and stabbing her cheek for a fourth crest. Landing on the forest floor, Sui-Feng surrounds herself with a swirling wind-like energy she claims to have invented only days earlier, a fusion of hand-to-hand combat and spellcraft that has no name yet. Yoruichi contradicts her, identifying it as Shunko.

She then explains why the Keisen Shozoku is cut away at the back and shoulders: the technique wraps those areas in dense energy that channels power to the limbs and bursts outward, so any cloth there would be torn off the instant it activates. Demonstrating, Yoruichi triggers her own Shunko, the fabric blowing from her back and shoulders as crackling energy envelops her. Admitting she never wanted to use the move against her former student, she raises a hand and unleashes a huge blast, confessing she still cannot control it well and leaving Sui-Feng speechless.
