Coming to with Nel drooling healing saliva across his face, a horrified Dordoni recoils, insisting the sticky flood is vomit rather than medicine while Ichigo, mangling his name, explains that the girl's spit mends wounds. Once patched up, Dordoni lies back and confesses he feels almost relieved to have lost. He had been certain his prepared body and iron will could absorb anything Ichigo threw at him, and never foresaw such a defeat.

He then bares his true motive: he longed to become a real Espada once more. Even knowing Aizen regards the Espada as mere weapons, Dordoni could never forget the view from the heights he once occupied, and he believed that crushing Ichigo at full power would win back his seat. That, he admits, is why he kept demanding the Hollow mask. Then, springing up with sword drawn, he declares his ambition unchanged and charges, calling Ichigo soft and sweet as chocolate, only for Ichigo to shear straight through his blade and vanish down the corridor with Nel.

Rudbornn Chelute arrives with the Exequias, ordered to finish the wounded intruder. With his Zanpakutō broken and his Resurrección beyond reach, Dordoni is told resistance is hopeless, yet he grins and sets himself against the charge.
