The Metal Cudgel Flinger

Love hauls Rose from a heap of rubble, grumbling that he had hoped to finish Starrk before Hachi ever dealt with Baraggan. In his view, a death always invites vengeance, so he expects the Espada to come looking for payback. Catching Starrk with his guard down, he releases his Zanpakuto and charges. Starrk answers with a barrage of Ceros, but Love simply blocks them, and when Starrk slips aside a swing levels a building instead. Spotting the Espada trying to flee behind him, Love hammers him down to the earth.

Sprawled in the dirt, Starrk hears Lilynette scream at him to rise and avenge Baraggan, but he shrugs it off, admitting he would sooner go home and sleep than trade blows with foes this strong. Only when Lilynette demands to know whether he wants his comrades to die does he finally drag himself upright.

Emerging from the smoke, Starrk parries Love's next strike. Asked whether he had been mourning, he allows that it was something of the sort. Love remarks that he thought Hollows lacked hearts, and Starrk shoots back that the masked Visored looks rather like a Hollow himself. Love dons his mask and lunges, only for Starrk to vanish. Rose's warning comes too late; the Espada hangs above them, a host of wolves massed at his back.

Love pulls Rose from the rubble and attacks Starrk, expecting the Espada to seek revenge for Baraggan. He blocks Starrk's Ceros and smashes him into the ground. Lilynette goads a reluctant Starrk into rejoining the fight. Starrk trades barbs with Love, who dons his mask, then vanishes and reappears above his opponents with an army of wolves at his command.

The fifth chapter of volume 43, Kingdom of Hollows, adapted into episode 282, Power of the Soul! Los Lobos, Attack!. It opens the fight between Love Aikawa, aided by Rose, and Coyote Starrk, and brings the wolf pack of his released form into the battle.
