DEATH IN VISION

From the base of the towering fort, Eleventh Division soldiers recognize their captain's Reiatsu at the summit and cheer that the war is now winnable, though one of them puzzles over why nobody felt Kenpachi until the fortress rose. Above, Gremmy shrugs off the noise and reveals that his flesh is whole again, not from healing but from imagining the sword wound had already closed.

Vowing to win without so much as a finger, Gremmy floods the platform with lava drawn from his own mind. Kenpachi, unbothered by an enemy that defies sense, cleaves the molten wave apart, though stray streams fall near Yachiru. When he tells her to take cover, Gremmy notes her bones are still cookies, then corrects the term to rakugan, which Kenpachi recognizes before scolding him and springing to attack.

Gremmy answers by trapping Kenpachi inside a cube of water hanging in midair, then drops it into a chasm he splits open and seals over, reasoning that even an unkillable monster suffocates within an hour. Kenpachi simply erupts from the ground with Yachiru tucked under his arm and swings, forcing Gremmy to conjure a heavy metal bar to guard himself. Seeing Yachiru's bones have reverted, Kenpachi concludes the Quincy was too absorbed in their fight to keep warping her body.

Gremmy reveals he restores his body by imagining it already healed rather than by actual regeneration. He pledges to defeat Kenpachi using only his imagination, attacking with lava, a suspended cube of water, and a sealed chasm meant to suffocate him. Kenpachi survives every ploy, rescues Yachiru, and deduces that Gremmy's focus on him has lifted the alteration of Yachiru's bones.
